"Agitation Free" (ou Agitation) foi uma banda alemã de rock progressivo e krautrock formada em 1967 por "Michael Fame Günther" (baixo), "Lutz Lüül Ulbrich" (guitarra), "Lutz Ludwig Kramer" (guitarra) e "Christoph Franke" (bateria). Eram inicialmente chamados "Agitation", um nome escolhido ao acaso no dicionário. Sua originalidade foi devido à mistura de músicas eletrônicas repetitivas com um monte de elementos étnicos do norte da África, Índia, etc... Lembra muito bandas como "Ash Ra Tempel" e "Guru Guru", exceto pela influência cultural.
Após perder o guitarrista "Axel Genrich" para a banda "Guru Guru" em 1970 e o baterista "Christopher Franke" para o "Tangerine Dream" no ano seguinte, a banda recrutou "Jörg Joshi Schwenke" (guitarra), "Burghard Rausch" (bateria) e "Michael Hoenig" (teclado). Lançaram seu álbum de estréia "Malesch" em 1972 pela gravadora "Music Factory", uma excursão étnica e uma clara paixão pela vanguarda européia com longos solos de guitarra e atmosferas hipnotizantes, o álbum foi inspirado por sua turnê pelo Egito, Grécia e Chipre.
Um segundo álbum, "Second", foi lançado em 1973, mais flexionado pro euro-folk, com um uso mais forte de violões e bouzouki. Tanto "Malesch" de 1972 e "Second" de 1973 são excelentes excursões espaciais com gravações absolutamente brilhantes. A banda acabou em 1974, em 1998 reuniram-se,
e lançaram "River of Return" em 1999.

Vários álbuns foram lançados após a separação do grupo, incluindo "Last" de 1976 relançado em CD em 1992, "Fragments" de 1995 e "At The Cliffs do rio Reno" de 1998. No ano seguinte, "River Of Return" apareceu, uma reunião do quarteto original, bem como novos membros "Johannes Pappert" e "Bernard Potschka".
