A banda alemã de prog sinfônico "Amenophis" foi formada em 1978 pelos irmãos "Stefan Rössmann" e "Michael Rössmann", lançaram dois álbuns na década de oitenta e retomaram as atividades em 2010. A formação original da banda era "Michael Roessmann" (guitarra), "Wolfgang Vollmuth" (baixo/guitarra acústica/vocal) e "Stefan Roessmann" (bateria/teclado/guitarra acústica/synthetizadores), eles foram fortemente influenciados por bandas como "Yes", "Genesis" e "Camel". Antes de produzirem seu álbum de estréia em 1983, um auto-intitulado que mostra uma música verdadeiramente refinada, eles já faziam shows, e o primeiro show foi em outubro de 1979, fazendo uma série de apresentações ao vivo entre esse período. Em 1987 eles reformularam a formação da banda acrescentando um vocal feminino, e se apresentaram em vários concertos, no mesmo ano gravaram e lançaram seu segundo álbum de estúdio, chamado "You and I". "Amenophis" deu seu último concerto em 1989, depois disso a banda se desfez. Em 2011 retomaram as atividades e lançaram em 2014, pelo selo Musearecord, seu terceiro álbum, chamado "Time", que contém principalmente
canções que a banda compôs entre 2011 e 2013.
